Freshmen Send Off is an event the NDCLA organizes every summer to welcome the LA based incoming Freshmen class and their parents to the Notre Dame family. It's an opportunity for LA based students and parents to meet, interact, and learn about all things Notre Dame, including where to by a winter coat, the best way to travel to and from South Bend, and some basic ND trivia. In addition to the NDCLA board, we solicit expert commentary from current parents and students to give the incoming class a true representation of life on campus.
For the past two years we have hosted our annual Freshmen Sendoff event at the wonderful home of Mary and Jay Flaherty – 2010 being their daughter's freshman year at ND. This year we would like to see if someone else in the club could match their generosity by opening their home to the incoming class of 2016.
The NDCLA will provide all the food, beverages, tables, chairs and tents, as well as complete pre- and post-event set-up and tear-down. The only thing we need is a nice sized backyard capable of accommodating approx 100-125 people (think 10-12 large round tables seating 10 each). The event is typically in mid-late July on a Saturday from 12-4pm, so this year it would likely be either July 21 or 28. If you are willing and able to open your doors to the ND community for an important and fun event, please contact Hilda McGonigle at info@ndcla.com. |
