LA Kings 1 – St. Louis Blues 0 (shoot-out)
The
score may look low, but the game had playoff-level intensity. Taking on
the #1 team in the West at the time, the Kings forced a scoreless game
into overtime, and then won it in a shoot-out on March 22 at Staples Center.
The Notre Dame Club hosted 22 fans for the game in the lower bowl, and
all were invited to experience a rare behind-the-scenes tour of Staples
Center, which included going down to ice level for pictures, checking
out the Zambonis, the Chairman’s Room, the locker and VIP areas, and
the main entry point where the team takes the ice. The Kings went on to
make a late-season push and just squeaked into the playoffs, facing the
Vancouver Canucks in round 1. Go Kings Go!!
